A simple local handover routine

Share the controller without losing the learning thread.

Agree on the session shape

Passing a controller between people is different from online multiplayer or a built-in local mode. Describe it honestly as taking turns on one setup. Agree on a comfortable interval and a shared practice goal before starting, rather than making the next catch the only possible handover point.

Explain the current state

Before handing over, show the current location, selected setup and the next action. A new player should not have to guess whether the character is casting, retrieving or navigating a menu. A short explanation reduces accidental changes and makes the session easier to share.

Let the next person learn

Offer the control reference, then leave room to try. Constant correction can turn a relaxed handover into a test. Ask whether the player wants a hint. Keep the goal small enough that both people can notice progress without comparing catch totals.

Respect accounts and settings

Do not change account details, purchase content or overwrite another person’s preferred settings as part of a casual handover. If you adjust a supported option together, note the original value. Check the title’s own help for any actual multiplayer features you want to use later.

Try it next session

  1. Agree on a timed turn rather than a catch target.
  2. Explain the current state before passing the controller.
  3. End each turn with one observation, not a score.
